Ejido San Crisanto · Yucatán, Mexico
Applications · Mangrove Restoration

Blue carbon, measured tree by tree

Community teams scan restoration banks directly with a backpack LiDAR unit: canopy, prop roots and carbon from the same walk, not a satellite proxy.

What we measure

Four numbers, measured, not assumed

  • Per-tree structure and carbon, mangrove by mangrove
  • Restoration-bank progress ahead of the rainy season
  • Canopy and prop-root structure from one scan
  • ±1 cm positional accuracy
What it's for

Blue-carbon restoration and conservation credits that trace to mangroves measured on-site by the community itself, not to a global biomass model.

How we do it

The ground calibrates. The air scales.

Ground

Handheld LiDAR · 2 ha/hour

Tree by tree under the canopy. Operated by the local crew after two days of training, and it works with no internet connection.

Air

Drone LiDAR · 60 ha/hour

Full property coverage in days. Flown over well-measured ground plots, it extends that precision to the whole surface.

Platform

UnderstoryOS · traceability

Every measurement keeps its date, operator, location and origin, with the satellite record as context.

What we deliver is the raw data with its chain of custody, not a closed report.

Already running: 800+ hectares of mature mangrove at Ejido San Crisanto, Yucatán, with the community carrying out its own measurements.
